Laying out a binder

Creating one

• Name it, then give it a tag of up to three characters and a colour. The tag is what appears beside a card in your collection table, so "TRD" for trades or "EDH" beats something you will not recognise later.
• Pick a page size to match the real binder: 3×3 for nine pocket, 4×3 for twelve, 4×4 for sixteen. Getting this right is what makes page four on screen the same as page four in your hands.

Filling it

• Open the binder, then tick cards in your collection and send them across. Two hundred cards is one action, not two hundred.
• Dragging a row onto the binder works for one or two.
• Cards land in the first free slot, so the order you add them in is the order they appear. Add a set in the order you want it laid out and you will barely need to rearrange anything.

How many slots one card can take

A binder is a physical object, so a card fills as many slots as you own copies. Own one Sol Ring and it goes in one pocket; own four and it can fill four.

• Picking the same binder again for a card already at its limit does not silently add another copy. Wizbook says the card is already there and that you do not own more, and asks whether to add it anyway.
• Say yes and it goes in. Playsets laid out deliberately are an ordinary thing to want, and it is your binder.
• Anything beyond what you own is then flagged, so a slot you meant is kept and a slot you did not is easy to find.

If a binder already has duplicates

Earlier versions added another copy every time a binder was picked, without saying so. Opening an affected binder now shows a banner counting the cards sitting in more slots than you own.

• Show me lists them with the pages they are on, so you can check before anything changes.
• Clean up clears only the slots beyond what you own, so a genuine playset of four keeps its four.
• Dismissing the banner changes nothing. Nothing is tidied without you asking.

Rearranging and removing

• Drag a card to another slot to swap the two. On a phone, tap the move button then tap where it should go, since a long press starts a browser drag that fights the page.
• To take several cards out at once, select them and use Remove from Binder in Bulk Actions. They leave the binder and stay in your collection.
• To clear one slot, use the cross on the slot itself.
• Add pages as you need them. A binder can hold as many as the real one does, and then some.

Finding what is not filed yet

In the collection filters, the binder section has a Not in any binder option at the top. That is the fastest way to work through new arrivals: filter to the unfiled, sort however suits you, and send them across in batches until the filter comes back empty.

Binders and your collection

A binder never changes what you own. It records where cards sit, so removing one from a binder is not selling it, and deleting a binder does not touch a single card. Binders travel in the Excel workbook and in the Wizbook backup along with everything else.
